NatWest Island Games

In June of this year, Merdock handled the publicity for the group of 60 athletes who participated in the NatWest Island Games in Rhodes (An island of Greece). The campaign included a fundraising brochure, photography and liaison with local media during the games. PEI athletes won 16 medals: 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze, including a games record in swimming.

The NatWest Island Games has 25 member Islands around the world who come together every two years to compete in 15 summer sports. The Games are an opportunity for Islands from around the world to participate at an international level of sports with other Islands of similar athletic standards and circumstances. It is a rich cultural event that is built on the community spirit of islands. Prince Edward Island is aspiring to host the games which will be the first time the games would be held in North America.
